That said, after gigging with it for about a year, the only thing that is somewhat limiting functionally is that it’s a one-button pedal. It’s the best and most versatile amp-in-a-box type pedal I’ve ever played. All settings maintain great note clarity and separation. You can get pretty brown-soundy with it as well. Push G2 to 3 o’clock and scoop the mids and you’re well into hair metal territory. Crank G1 into G2 at 12 o’clock with eq flat and you’ve got grunge tone for days. Gain 1 is a TS circuit, Gain 2 is a JCM 800-style MIB. There are 2 gain circuits, plus 3 band eq, and a volume. It nails those tones, but offers so much more beyond that as well. It's name, design, and aesthetics are intended to reproduce the tones and feel from Pearl Jam's debut album Ten (released in 1991). Journalist Angela Chen creates her path to understanding her own asexuality with the perspectives of a diverse group of asexual people. What exactly is sexual attraction, and what is it like to go through life not experiencing it? What does asexuality reveal about gender roles, about romance and consent, and the pressures of society? This accessible examination of asexuality shows that the issues that aces face - confusion around sexual activity, the intersection of sexuality and identity, navigating different needs in relationships - are the same conflicts that nearly all of us will experience. Through a blend of reporting, cultural criticism, and memoir, Ace addresses the misconceptions around the "A" of LGBTQIA and invites everyone to rethink pleasure and intimacy. ![]() An engaging exploration of what it means to be asexual in a world that's obsessed with sexual attraction, and what the ace perspective can teach all of us about desire and identity. ![]() ![]() ![]() In Secondhand Time, Alexievich chronicles the demise of communism.
